In summer, we picked all of the apples from our garden tree 🍏
Or so we thought.
As winter slowly stripped away the leaves, one sizeable remaining apple could be seen from the kitchen window.
Each day I was at the sink, I wondered when it would fall.
We all guessed a drop date.
I knew it would fall eventually.
Obviously.
I was wrong.
Over the past few days, a lone blackbird has been pecking away at the apple.
The remains of it now hang, defying our beliefs.
Things never turn out how we imagine them to.
Nothing is as it seems; neither your plans nor your fears will materialise as you imagine them to.
Only your actions will bear fruit.
Be that blackbird.
